Megan is a quantitative ecologist whose research focuses on habitat ecology, movement ecology, and population dynamics. Her research combines field data with quantitative models to support science-based decision making. Megan started at the Alaska Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit in 2025 as an Assistant Unit Leader - Wildlife. She is involved in basic and applied research in a variety of ecosystems across Alaska and the western United States. Learn more about Megan's background and mentoring philosophy.Â

Miles Spathelf (co-advised with Shawn Crimmins)
Miles is exploring movement behavior and movement ecology of moose and caribou in collaboration with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
Hannah Vincelette (co-advised with Shawn Crimmins)
Hannah's project focuses on the Lesser Yellowlegs, a long-distance migrant in the Western Hemisphere. Her research aims to identify critical habitat featuers in the Prairie Pothole region and assess how future land-use and landcover changes could affect their use of the landscape.
